GTA VI: Everything Rockstar Has Revealed Since the Extended Look

Discover the latest GTA VI news since the 2026 Extended Look, including new reveals, merchandise, music, and the curious Thursday pattern.

The release of Grand Theft Auto VI is getting closer, and Rockstar Games has entered a noticeably more active phase of its marketing campaign.

Since the Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look was released on August 27, 2026, Rockstar and its partners have continued to reveal new details, products, music, and information surrounding the game.

Interestingly, there is already a pattern that GTA fans have noticed: almost every major GTA VI-related announcement since the Extended Look has arrived on a Thursday.

With the game scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, here is everything that has been revealed since the Extended Look.

August 27: The Extended Look

The starting point for this new wave of information was August 27, when Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look.

The presentation provided one of the most detailed looks at the game so far, using entirely in-game footage captured on PlayStation 5. It showcased Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, their relationship, several locations across Leonida, vehicles, activities, combat, character interactions, businesses, and everyday life in Vice City and beyond.

The Extended Look also gave players a better understanding of the game's structure and tone. Rather than simply showing another cinematic trailer, Rockstar used the presentation to demonstrate how its characters and world interact during gameplay.

It was also the beginning of what has become a surprisingly regular stream of GTA VI-related announcements.

Our detailed breakdown of the Extended Look, combined with reports from four influencers who visited Rockstar’s offices, reveals much more about GTA VI, including the map size, police system, campaign length, performance, customization, and much more.

Everything revealed about GTA VI since the Extended Look, from new controllers and music to collectibles and the latest Rockstar updates.

September 3: The GTA VI DualSense Controllers

Exactly one week later, on Thursday, September 3, Sony revealed two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense Wireless Controllers.

The controllers are available in black and white designs inspired by Vice City. Both feature a color-shifting finish, palm-tree details and GTA VI branding. Sony also confirmed that the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers will be used in GTA VI to respond to events happening during gameplay.

The controllers are priced at $84.99 / €84.99 and are scheduled to launch on November 19 alongside the game. Pre-orders began on September 10.

While this was not a new gameplay reveal, it provided another indication of how Rockstar and Sony are positioning GTA VI as a major PlayStation 5 release.

From the Extended Look to new music, controllers, and Vice City collectibles, explore the latest GTA VI news ahead of its 2026 launch.

September 10: Controller Pre-Orders Begin

The following Thursday, September 10, brought the next step in the DualSense announcement.

Pre-orders opened for the two GTA VI limited-edition controllers, with availability through PlayStation and participating retailers. In Portugal, Sony directed customers to PlayStation's hardware store.

This was a smaller update than the Extended Look, but it continued the unusual Thursday rhythm surrounding GTA VI.

September 17: GTA VI Gets Its Own Album

On Thursday, September 17, Rockstar revealed another major part of GTA VI's identity: Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.

The official album will contain 34 original tracks and will launch alongside the game on November 19. Rockstar also announced the first six singles, featuring artists including Yung Lean, Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro and Keith Richards.

The album is being released in partnership with Atlantic Records and will be available digitally, while physical versions will include CD and vinyl editions.

Some particularly unusual collector versions were also announced, including limited-edition vinyl releases with different artwork.

Rockstar has said that more information about the game's music is still coming, including details about the dynamic score and the next evolution of GTA's in-game radio system.

That last point could be particularly interesting. Radio has always been a major part of the GTA experience, and Rockstar appears to be treating the soundtrack and radio system as an important part of GTA VI's world rather than simply background music.

September 17: More Information From Take-Two

September 17 was particularly interesting because information about GTA VI also emerged from Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company.

At its annual shareholder meeting, Take-Two continued to describe GTA VI as a single-player title and reiterated the November 19 release date. The company has also said that GTA Online will continue to be supported after GTA VI launches.

Another topic discussed around the same time was a potential PC version.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick discussed the company's general approach of releasing games on platforms with meaningful audiences. This was interpreted by some outlets as another indication that GTA VI could eventually come to PC, but Rockstar has not officially announced a PC version or a PC release date.

For now, the official launch platforms remain PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

September 24: The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection

Then came another Thursday.

On September 24, Rockstar announced the Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State - Vice City Collection, a large collector's box inspired by the fictional TV show Macca the Gator from Leonida.

The collection includes a Macca the Gator figure, GTA VI-themed sunglasses, a Vice City cap, a magnetic mirror, a swizzle spoon, a keychain, a crossbody bag, a shot glass, enamel pins, stickers and a souvenir poster showing the Leonida landscape.

Although the collection does not reveal new gameplay, the included Leonida landscape poster is an interesting addition for fans trying to piece together the game's world.

Rockstar confirmed that the collection will arrive on November 19, with pre-orders available while supplies last.

The Thursday Pattern

This is perhaps the most interesting part of the post-Extended Look period.

Since August 27, there has been a GTA VI-related development on every Thursday:

DateGTA VI-related news
August 27The Extended Look released
September 3Limited-edition GTA VI DualSense controllers revealed
September 10DualSense pre-orders opened
September 17GTA VI: The Album announced
September 24Goodtime State – Vice City Collection announced

The pattern has also been noticed by the GTA community, with players pointing out that Rockstar and its partners have delivered something GTA VI-related every Thursday since the Extended Look.

Of course, this does not mean Rockstar has officially announced a weekly GTA VI schedule.

It could simply be a coincidence created by the marketing calendar, or it could be part of a broader promotional strategy leading into launch. Either way, Thursday has quickly become an interesting day for GTA VI fans.

What Has Not Been Revealed Yet?

Despite the steady flow of announcements, Rockstar has not revealed everything about GTA VI.

There has been no new full gameplay presentation since the Extended Look, and Rockstar has not officially announced a PC version.

There are also still major questions surrounding GTA VI's online component, the complete radio lineup, additional characters, activities, regions of Leonida, and many of the systems that players will encounter during the full game.

Rockstar's official GTA VI page currently lists November 19, 2026 as the release date and confirms PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the launch platforms.

The official page also continues to feature the Extended Look as the latest major gameplay presentation.

Eight Weeks Until GTA VI

With September coming to an end, the countdown is becoming increasingly real.

The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, meaning Rockstar has only a relatively short marketing window remaining.

So far, the post-Extended Look strategy has focused on different aspects of GTA VI rather than simply releasing another trailer every week: hardware, music, merchandise, the wider world of Leonida and information about the game's release.

And if the Thursday pattern continues, there may be more announcements waiting for GTA fans in the coming weeks.

For now, however, one thing is certain: GTA VI is getting closer, and Rockstar's Thursday announcements have become a story of their own.
