The Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) 2026 officially kicked off gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the roughly two-hour showcase featured more than 50 announcements, trailers and release-date reveals. The event combined major returning franchises with new projects, with several Japanese and Chinese developers also taking centre stage. Here are some of the biggest announcements of the night. The Return of Geralt of Rivia CD PROJEKT RED surprised The Witcher community with two major announcements: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Remastered : A major visual and gameplay upgrade arriving as a free upgrade for existing owners on qualifying platforms. It launches on September 29, 2026 , with improvements to combat, visuals, performance and exploration. Players who own the base version of The Witcher 3 will also receive both expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine , for free.
